Capstone Internship
Human Resources intern

I am currently interning at Suburban Health at Home as a Human Resources Intern from January 2026 to present. In this role I support recruitment, onboarding, and daily HR operations within a home healthcare setting. This internship has given me hands-on exposure to workforce management and the administrative functions that keep a healthcare organization running behind the scenes.
Primary Responsibilities and Projects
-
Assisting with candidate sourcing and phone screenings for open healthcare positions
-
Supporting employee onboarding and orientation processes for new hires
-
Maintaining accurate employee records and HR documentation
-
Contributing to HR projects and process improvement initiatives within the organization

Learning Objectives and Outcomes
This internship has strengthened my organizational skills, attention to detail, and understanding of healthcare workforce operations. Supporting recruitment and onboarding has given me a real look at how staffing decisions directly impact patient care delivery. This experience has confirmed my passion for healthcare administration and my interest in working behind the scenes to support the teams that make quality care possible. Going into this role I expected to learn the basics of HR but I came out with a much deeper appreciation for how workforce management connects to the overall health of an organization.
Excel Application used

At my internship, I regularly use Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze data. Due to the sensitive nature of the information, all materials I work with are strictly confidential.
UKG Workforce Management Software
During my internship, I gained hands-on experience navigating UKG, a leading workforce management platform used by healthcare organizations. Through this software I developed skills in areas such as employee scheduling, time and attendance tracking, and HR data management. Due to the confidential nature of the specific data and workflows I worked with, detailed materials cannot be shared, however this experience gave me practical exposure to the type of enterprise-level HR systems used in real healthcare settings.
